Abstract
A Massachusetts reader identifies Appalachia’s Summer/Fall 2017 cover shot as a 1930 photo of her family around a campfire. Another reader sends in an imagined story about the mystery cover photo. Dr. Charlotte Ryan writes that she identified strongly with the tragedy of Geraldine Largay, subject of a piece in Winter/Spring 2017, who died on the Appalachian Trail.
