Ken Kimball, the Appalachian Mountain Club’s research director, retires. AMC delays decision about selling a cabin on Fire Island, New York. Tribute to the former New Hampshire landmark Old Man of the Mountain. A hiker recalls climbing the New Hampshire 4,000-footers in 1971.
