Abstract
Reports of rescues and accidents in New Hampshire’s White Mountains during the warm months of 2021. A group of men left two brothers behind on Garfield Ridge. A hiker dies when he sets up his hammock in an unstable tree. An experienced hiker takes the wrong trail near Mount Madison and spends an overnight wandering through the Great Gulf Wilderness while searchers look for her. A turned ankle and bad weather below Mount Washington cause trouble for two hikers. A man loses a signal while relying on a trail app and gets benighted on a headwall. Inexperienced hikers improvise and get lost after learning they should not hike on the Mount Washington Auto Road. Hikers lose one after they split up on the Isolation Trail.
