A $1.1 million federal grant funds extensive trail work on the Franconia Ridge in New Hampshire’s White Mountains, to be led by the Appalachian Mountain Club’s Trails Department and the White Mountain National Forest. Excerpts of the latest Mount Washington Master Plan, written by representatives of government and businesses in the area, outlines the Cog Railway’s plans for a hotel high on the mountain.
