Abstract

As the Mechanical Integrity Intern at Amphenol this summer, I designed and assembled a mated bulk resistance measurement fixture. The fixture simplifies a previously difficult and time-consuming measurement, and it reduces the required number of operators from three to one. Probes with smaller tips were designed and assembled for the fixture to match the small size of the compliant pins. A comparison of the Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility studies using the fixture and the previous method shows that the fixture reduces variability. A detailed drawing package with manufacturer and part information was completed to enable future replication of the design.
