Abstract

This problem focuses on a process of vowel harmony in Oroqen. Oroqen [ɔrɔtʃʲɛnˈ] is a Tungusic language spoken by approximately 1,200 people in northeastern China. The data in this problem are taken from the Central dialect of the language. Due to language attrition among the Oroqen, the process of vowel harmony is being lost. Only in the language of older speakers does one find the full paradigm below.
