Abstract

The Projects Team at Midrex Technologies is responsible for managing the procurement, engineering, and commissioning of Midrex clients’ Direct Reduced Iron facilities. Currently, Midrex lacks a method to accurately understand what drives project costs and how to best predict future costs. This project focuses on creating a tool to analyze the material cost trends for main components of a Midrex project and compare them to trends in project costs. This tool will serve as a foundation for material escalation’s impact on Midrex estimations and will serve as a basis for Midrex to build cost predictions in the future.
