Abstract

The following 390-project involves the optimization of the flow of material whenever aluminum profiles arrive and when they are shipped from a warehouse. The goal is to reduce the amount of overtime hour cost that the company is incurring by optimizing both cycles. This has been done by timing each step that is performed when receiving or shipping material, to identify where the bottleneck lies. Once the bottleneck was recognized, an analysis was done to determine the cause and find a solution for it.
