Abstract
This project – as part of the Energy Markets Team at Voltus – aims to provide an analytical model to make informed decisions before bidding into the New York Independent System Operator’s (NYISO) capacity auctions. The project aims to utilize a data-driven approach to create a price forecasting model to help Voltus offer capacity in the correct auctions. The NYISO capacity auctions are a significant source of revenue for Voltus, and in turn their customers, and being able to consistently predict the winning auction can help Voltus increase their revenues by up to 10% and differentiate themselves from their competition.
