Abstract
Subsurface Insights (SSI) provides tools — hardware and software — that allows users to collect and analyze data on subsurface processes in near real-time. SSI recently developed a prototype electrical resistivity tomography (ERT) system, which it then deployed to various trial customers. SSI hired me to help them manufacture these ERT systems at scale. The initial scope was to select an engineering consultancy to finalize design, redesign the system for manufacturing, select a contract manufacturer, and gather market information to inform product strategy. During the internship, I cut down the scope of the activity to only selecting an engineering consultancy and conducting market research and financial projections.
