Description
"We are studying environmental risk factors for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a fatal disorder with no known cause or cure. We are specifically interested in the neurotoxin BMAA which is produced by cyanobacteria, bacteria that are ubiquitous in most environments and particularly prevalent in warmer months as “blue-green algae”. Publishing in open access journals like Toxins allows a much larger audience to access our findings. "
