Abstract

This public workflow describes the provisional procedures for documenting the use of generative Artificial Intelligence (Large Language Models) in aiding archival description at Rauner Special Collections. The workflow includes an example of a Python script that was used for assisting in writing abstracts for oral histories. More guidance in this burgeoning and quickly developing field will be forthcoming—this workflow is intended to serve as a buffer until clearer guidance is made available within the Archives community.
