Abstract
This project is based in the Emergency Department at Brigham & Women’s Hospital. Dr. Baugh, Vice Chair of Clinical Affairs of the ED, is proposing to implement a program that will facilitate the transition to hospice without admission. The main goal of this project is the completion and analysis of a dataset using data previous and after implementation of the new workflow. This entails literature review to understand to determine the variables to analyze, data collection, detection of patients who were admitted and missed opportunities, chart review, data cleaning, and statistical evaluation of the impact of the project.
