Abstract
For my 10-week long summer internship, I worked with the Post-Transactions ‘SmartComms’ team at Walmart Global Tech. My project aimed to modernize the overall communications experience for multi-channel transactional customer communications. For communicating the right information to customers on their terms and allowing customers to prioritize important order updates amidst the noise of excessive communications, I proposed a Notification Preferences Center with a Priority Notification Mode. The estimated impact of my minimum viable product is a 20 bases points improvement in customer satisfaction scores and an annual reduction of contacts per order by 90,000 contacts, saving Walmart $540,000 per year.
