Abstract
Amazon’s peak period which starts from Black Friday and ends on 31st December is the most important time for their sales and revenue due to high discounts offered. This year, due to social distancing guidelines in light of Covid-19, Amazon’s fulfilment centers were not able to operate at full capacity and their throughput was affected. Particularly affected by this are the Amazon Robotics sites (ARS) and Amazon Extra Large fulfilment (AMXL) centers. My goal during the internship was to identify ways to increase the throughput for AMXL and ARS sites and propose an implementation plan for meeting peak demand.
