Abstract
The ERP system didn’t accurately reflect the inventory count and all the inventory was solely ordered on human judgement. A mobile solution known as Inventory Coordinator Portal was developed to track inventory movement and a forecasting model was built and its outputs (safety stock, reorder point and maximum stock levels) fed into the IC Portal to help the site personnel in ordering parts. The IC Portal has roughly increased the efficiency of tracking parts by 57% and the forecasting model has resulted in at least 7% inventory level reduction.
